World Citi Group Expresses Interest in Investing in Cambodia’s Health Education Sector

On the evening of February 10, 2025, Samdech Moha BorvorThipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, granted a courtesy meeting to Dr. Raymond Patrick V. Guico, President of World Citi Group, during his official visit to Manila, Republic of the Philippines, from February 10-11, 2025.

During the meeting, Dr. Guico respectfully briefed Samdech Borvor Thipadei on the company’s interest in establishing partnerships in Cambodia. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between World Citi Group and Asia-Europe University clearly reflects the company’s commitment to investing and expanding its presence in education and vocational training, with a particular emphasis on the health sector. Dr. Guico also presented the company’s vision for developing Cambodia’s health education sector at the higher education level, aiming to make it more progressive and leading in Asia. In this sense, forming strategic partnerships with Cambodian investors is a key priority for the company’s success. Dr. Guico expressed confidence that, with the support of Samdech Borvor Thipadei and strong local partnerships, World Citi Group will achieve success in Cambodia. Additionally, following a fruitful visit at the Cambodia-Philippines Business Forum and a courtesy meeting with the Philippine Businesswomen’s Council in Phnom Penh last January, Dr. Guico informed Samdech Borvor Thipadei of the company’s plans to visit Cambodia again in the near future.

In response, Samdech Borvor Thipadei congratulated World Citi Group and Asia-Europe University on the signing of the MoU, which took place at the opening of the Philippines-Cambodia Business Forum. He also highly valued the company’s interest in investing in Cambodia, particularly in health education and vocational training.

Samdech Borvor Thipadei reaffirmed the Cambodian government’s prioritization of the health sector, recognizing the growing demand for health professionals, especially nurses, to serve the country’s population, including the elderly. Given that healthcare is a science subject, he stressed the importance of maintaining standards and quality in health education. He also encouraged World Citi Group to continue engaging with local partners and relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Health, which is responsible for setting standards and guidelines for human resource development in the health sector.
